Made to Be Held

Each piece is one-of-a-kind. Slight variations in glaze, form, and surface are the mark of the hand — not imperfections.

Artist Maya Lindström at the pottery wheel in Terra & Clay Studio
Our Story

Built Slow, Made Well

Terra & Clay was founded in 2016 by Maya Lindström, who left a decade in architecture to return to material making. The studio began in a converted garage with a single wheel and a 20-litre bag of stoneware.

Today, the studio operates from a purpose-built space with four wheels, a wood-fired anagama kiln, and a small gallery. Every piece is still made by hand, still fired the slow way, and still designed to outlast the trends.

Made by Hand

Every piece wheel-thrown or hand-built. No casting, no moulds.

Wood Kiln Fired

Anagama kiln firing produces unique flame marks on each piece.

Low Impact

Natural glazes, recycled clay, and zero plastic packaging.

"I bought a mug as a gift and ended up keeping it for myself. The weight, the handle, the way it holds heat — it is the only mug I use now. I have since ordered six more pieces for my home. Nothing else compares."

"The introduction workshop was the most fulfilling three hours I have had in years. Maya is a wonderful teacher — patient, encouraging, and genuinely excited about what she does. I am already booked for the intensive."

"We hired the studio for a team event and it was an absolute hit. Our team of 10 made bowls, laughed constantly, and left with something beautiful. The food and wine arrangement was perfect. 10/10 would book again."
