Our Story

Started with One Flavour

Scoop & Swirl began in 2016 when founder Jamie Osei started making ice cream in her home kitchen to recreate a Ghanaian coconut ice cream her grandmother used to make. Neighbours started requesting tubs. A farmers market stall followed. Then this shop.

Everything is still made in small batches. Every ingredient is still sourced within 200 miles where possible. And the coconut ice cream — now called "Accra Coconut" — is still on the menu every summer.

Good Questions

Yes. We always have at least 4 dairy-free sorbettos and 2 vegan scoops. Our kitchen handles dairy, nuts, and gluten — we recommend checking with staff if you have a severe allergy.
Yes! For catering bookings of 100+ guests, we can develop a custom flavour inspired by your event, location, or personal story. This requires 3 weeks notice and a minimum order.
Yes. We always have our core flavours available in take-home pints ($12–$15). Limited edition flavours sell out fast — follow us on Instagram for pint drop notifications.
We travel up to 75 miles from our shop. For events beyond that, please contact us — we can sometimes accommodate with a travel fee for larger bookings.
We source within 200 miles wherever possible — that is most of our dairy, eggs, and seasonal fruit. Specialty ingredients like Valrhona cocoa and Sicilian pistachio come from their origin regions because quality demands it.
