Plant Care
Most houseplants prefer bright, indirect light. Direct sun can scorch leaves; too little causes leggy growth. Check each plant's label on arrival.
Overwatering kills more plants than underwatering. Check the top inch of soil — water only when it feels dry. Drainage is essential.
Most tropical houseplants prefer 65–80°F (18–27°C). Avoid draughts, cold windowsills in winter, and sudden temperature swings.
About
Rootstock Garden was founded in 2009 by horticulturist Tom Ashby on a half-acre plot outside town. We propagate most of what we sell, which means plants reach you in peak health.
We are not a box-store garden centre. Every member of our team can identify what is on the shelves, advise on soil type and light, and diagnose a problem plant. Come in with questions.
Reviews
"Every plant I have bought from Rootstock has arrived healthy and has thrived. The team knows everything — I asked a very specific question about propagating a rare Hoya and got a ten-minute answer. Wonderful place."
"The best plant shop I have found. Prices are fair, the plants are healthy, and the pots selection is brilliant. I drove 45 minutes and it was completely worth it."
"Ordered online and the plants arrived perfectly packaged — better than any online plant shop I have used before. The Pink Princess Philodendron is absolutely stunning. Will be back."
