From a starter solar array to a fully autonomous smart home energy system, Solaris designs solutions that match your home, usage, and budget.
Premium monocrystalline panels from Tier-1 manufacturers. Panels tested to IEC standards and installed by our in-house team of BPEC-qualified engineers. Typical payback period 7–9 years.
Store surplus solar energy and use it after dark. Compatible with most existing solar systems. Smart charging automatically buys cheap overnight grid electricity when needed.
OZEV-approved 7kW home EV chargers with solar-priority charging, so your car runs on sunshine when the sun is shining. Load balancing prevents tripping your main fuse.
How It Works
Our end-to-end process means you never have to worry about planning, paperwork, or grid applications. We handle everything.
45–60 minutes
A Solaris energy consultant visits your home, assesses your roof, checks your energy usage, and designs a system sized for your actual needs — not a generic template. We produce a detailed report with projected savings, payback period, and CO2 offset.
2–5 business days
We provide a detailed written quote with no hidden costs. We manage your DNO (Distribution Network Operator) application, check permitted development requirements, and handle any building regulation notifications on your behalf.
1–2 days on-site
Our in-house BPEC-qualified installation team (no subcontractors) installs your system in 1–2 days. We use commercial-grade fixings, weatherproof cable management, and leave your home as clean as we found it.
Lifetime support
Your system connects to our monitoring platform. Track live generation, savings, and CO2 offset from the Solaris app. Our aftercare team is available by phone and email for the life of your system.
Recent Installations
Every installation is different. These are three recent projects across different property types and budgets.
12 x 410W panels + 9.5kWh battery (4.92 kWp)
"The Solaris team were professional from start to finish. Our bills dropped by over 70% in the first three months."
20 x 420W panels + 15kWh battery + 7kW EV charger (8.4 kWp)
"Our car now runs entirely on solar during the day. The battery covers us through most evenings. Exceptional installation."
8 x 380W panels (3.04 kWp)
"I was surprised a terrace could benefit from solar. The savings are real and the installation was completed in a single day."
Your Savings
Your savings depend on your current electricity bill, roof orientation, and system size. These estimates are based on typical UK conditions using Ofgem unit prices.
| Annual Bill | System Size | Est. Annual Saving | Payback Period | CO2 Saved / Year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £900 – £1,200 | 3kWp | £600 – £800 | 8–10 years | 0.6 – 0.8 tonnes |
| £1,200 – £1,800 | 4kWp | £900 – £1,300 | 7–9 years | 0.9 – 1.2 tonnes |
| £1,800 – £2,500 | 6kWp | £1,400 – £1,900 | 6–8 years | 1.3 – 1.8 tonnes |
| £2,500+ | 8–12kWp | £2,000 – £3,500+ | 5–7 years | 2.0 – 3.5+ tonnes |
Estimates include Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) income. Adding battery storage improves self-consumption and can increase savings by 20–40%. Speak to a Solaris consultant for a personalised report.
Solar panel systems are currently zero-rated for VAT on residential properties in the UK — a saving of 20% versus commercial pricing.
Get paid for surplus electricity you export to the grid. Rates currently range from 4p–15p/kWh depending on your energy supplier.

About Solaris
Solaris Energy Group was founded in 2012 by a team of electrical engineers and renewable energy consultants who believed that quality solar installations should be the norm, not the exception. We have been consistently rated among the UK's top solar installers and never use subcontractors.
Every installation is carried out by our employed BPEC-qualified team. No subcontractors, ever.
We source only Tier-1 panels and inverters. If we wouldn't put it on our own house, we won't put it on yours.
A dedicated aftercare team supports your system for its lifetime — not just for the warranty period.
Our offices and vehicle fleet are fully carbon-neutral. We offset remaining emissions through verified woodland projects.
Customer Reviews
"From the initial survey to switch-on, the whole process took just under three weeks. The engineers were tidy, professional, and explained everything clearly. Our bills dropped from £180/month to around £40/month in summer. Exceptional value."
"I researched six solar companies before choosing Solaris. Their transparency on costs, their use of in-house engineers rather than subcontractors, and their willingness to answer every technical question I had set them apart. One year later, I'm delighted with both the system and the ongoing support."
"We added battery storage six months after the initial panel install and the difference is significant. The Solaris app shows us everything in real time. Our house is now almost entirely self-sufficient from April to September. We've recommended Solaris to three neighbours already."
FAQ
In most cases, no. Solar panel installations on residential properties in England, Wales, and Scotland are typically covered by Permitted Development Rights, meaning no planning application is needed. There are exceptions for listed buildings and some conservation areas. We check your specific situation during the free survey and handle any required notifications.
East- and west-facing roofs can still generate excellent yields — often 80–85% of a south-facing equivalent. East-west split installations also have the advantage of spreading generation across a longer part of the day. We model your specific orientation and roof pitch during the survey to give you an accurate projection.
Most residential solar installations are completed in one to two days. Larger systems or those including battery storage may take an additional half-day. We use scaffold towers for safe access and remove all waste from site. You will have electricity throughout — only a brief planned outage of under 30 minutes when we connect to your distribution board.
If you have battery storage, surplus electricity charges the battery first. Once the battery is full, any remaining surplus is exported to the grid. Under the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), your energy supplier is obliged to pay you for this exported electricity. We help you register for the best available SEG rate as part of our commissioning process.
Our Tier-1 panels carry a 25-year linear performance warranty from the manufacturer, guaranteeing that the panels will still produce at least 80–87% of their rated output after 25 years. Inverters typically carry 10–12 year warranties, extendable to 20 years on request. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years by Solaris directly.
